Kendra Slayton, PhD

Consultant

I am a native Michigander and an alumnus of Michigan State University, where I double majored in English and Japanese. I lived in Yamanashi-ken, Japan for three years, working as an English teacher with the JET program. I then earned my MA and PhD at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, specializing in medieval literature and gender. Since I am a walking cliché of a medievalist, I have two cats and enjoy shows like Buffy the Vampire Slayer. In my free time I’m also an avid archer, shooting Olympic Recurve style, which is a descriptor of the type of bow I shoot and not, alas, my skill level, although I compete at State and National tournaments.
